The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has reversed a price increase on canned tuna introduced earlier today, announcing that the product will continue to be sold at its previous rates.

In a statement issued this evening, the state-owned fisheries company said the decision to roll back the price adjustment was made in consideration of public feedback and the cost of living. MIFCO noted that the revised pricing had been reconsidered and returned to the earlier rates.

As a result, from Monday onwards, canned tuna sold at MIFCO outlets will be priced at MVR 17.50 per can, while a case of canned tuna will be available for MVR 760.

MIFCO added that it remains committed to supplying high-quality fish products to customers at the most affordable prices possible.
