The People’s National Congress (PNC) secured all five seats in Kaafu Kaashidhoo in Saturday’s Local Council elections, with the party winning both the council presidency and all member positions.

Sobah Mohamed was elected President of the Kaashidhoo Council with 496 votes, defeating candidates from the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and an independent candidate. The remaining seats were also secured by PNC candidates, including Fathimath Nathasha with 505 votes and Ristha Sameer with 557 votes for the women’s positions.

Ahmed Junais and Naifa Ibrahim were elected to the other council seats, receiving 527 and 488 votes respectively, completing a full sweep for the party across all positions.
