The Prosecutor General’s Office has introduced a series of cost-cutting measures, including requiring staff to work from home every Tuesday, in efforts to reduce operational expenses.
In a statement, the office said the measures will be implemented from April 7 to May 31, 2026, in line with Government efforts to mitigate the impact of the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
Under the new measures, employees will work remotely on Tuesdays, while official meetings will be conducted online where possible. The office will also reduce electricity consumption, limit the use of paper and office vehicles, and adjust working arrangements to improve efficiency.
The office noted that employees will continue to attend court hearings and carry out duties that require physical presence. Meetings that cannot be effectively held online will continue to take place in person.
As part of the measures, staff working in the office will be encouraged to work from home after 2:00 p.m., while office closing hours will be changed to 6:00 p.m. to reduce electricity usage. Additional steps will also be taken to support the office’s ongoing efforts to transition towards full digital operations.
