The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has introduced a dedicated hotline to address complaints related to services provided through the Maldives’ instant payment system, Favara.

The central bank announced that the Favara Hotline 1544 was launched at a special ceremony, with Governor Ahmed Munawar inaugurating the service. The hotline will be managed by Payments Maldives Private Limited, a subsidiary of MMA.

The authority noted that the existing 1444 hotline for general financial service complaints will continue without interruption, while the newly introduced 1544 line will be dedicated specifically to payment services.

MMA stated that the service is expected to help resolve transaction-related challenges more efficiently and strengthen public confidence in the country’s banking and financial system.
