The Maldives has condemned recent Israeli attacks on parts of Lebanon, describing them as a serious escalation that has resulted in significant loss of life and injuries.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government said the attacks have undermined ongoing international efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region, while also posing a broader risk to regional security.

The Government called on the international community to take immediate and decisive action to hold Israel accountable for violations of international law and international humanitarian law.

Reaffirming its position, the Maldives expressed solidarity with the Government and people of Lebanon, and reiterated its support for efforts to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
