Maldives Immigration has conducted an operation in Hulhumalé as part of ongoing efforts to identify undocumented foreign nationals.

Immigration authorities said the operation was carried out in Hulhumalé Phase I, where a total of 15 expatriates were inspected. One individual was found in violation of immigration regulations and was taken into custody.

The authority stated that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts under the task force established to address undocumented expatriates and related illegal activities in the Maldives.

Immigration added that similar operations are being conducted to identify individuals residing or working without valid documentation, in efforts to strengthen compliance with immigration laws and regulate foreign employment in the country.
