MIFCO CEO Farhath Shaheer steps down from post

Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), Brigadier General (Retired) Farhath Shaheer, has resigned from his post.

MIFCO confirmed the resignation to MMTV, stating that Farhath has stepped down after serving as the head of the State-owned fisheries company.

Farhath was appointed as CEO and Managing Director of MIFCO on March 5, 2025, following the dismissal of former CEO Dr Vitaliy Lyubimov. Prior to his appointment, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) and held senior positions in the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), including Vice Chief of Defence Force.

Further details regarding the resignation or a successor have not yet been announced.
