A special category for religious content will be introduced at Maldives Expo 2026.

The expo is being organised by the Business Center Corporation (BCC) under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

Information shared with the media by BCC states that the new category is intended to provide a platform for individuals and organisations working to promote Islamic education and religious awareness, enabling them to showcase their work at a national level.

Applications to participate in the expo have now opened, with revised guidelines published in the Government Gazette.

BCC stated that the introduction of the category is aimed at encouraging the development of educational and creative materials that promote Islamic principles, while supporting new ideas in the sector.

Under this category, a range of products and services focused on religious education and awareness will be eligible. Submissions may be made in audio and video formats, including documentaries, reports, and other multimedia productions based on Islamic themes. All entries are required to comply with established religious guidelines and standards.

A sub-category has also been introduced for materials designed to provide religious education for children. These include resources tailored to different age groups, taking into account varying levels of understanding and learning ability.

Participation for Maldives Expo 2026 is now open, with interested parties able to register via the official website
