The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has published the names of 48 parties that failed to meet Corporate and Personal Income Tax obligations.
MIRA stated that the list was released in line with its policy of publicly disclosing parties that do not submit tax returns or settle outstanding tax liabilities.
The authority noted that the list includes companies and individuals engaged in business activities who had not filed their tax returns as of the end of December 2024.
Before making the information public, MIRA said it had contacted the parties via phone to notify them of the legal consequences of non-compliance and the enforcement actions that could follow. Reminders were also issued through SMS.
MIRA added that, under its enforcement policy, further action will be taken without exception to recover outstanding taxes and other dues owed to the State.
The authority has urged all non-compliant parties to submit their tax returns at the earliest opportunity and settle any outstanding amounts.
MIRA also stated that those facing difficulties in making full payments may contact the authority to arrange a payment plan through instalments.
