President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ahmed Shiyam as the Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources.

A ceremony to present the letter of appointment was held on Wednesday at the President’s Office.

During the ceremony, the oath of office as a member of the Cabinet was administered by Supreme Court Justice Uz Abdulla Hameed. 

On Tuesday, President Dr Muizzu appointed 12 ministers to the Cabinet. The reconstituted Cabinet comprises 15 members, including the Attorney General, making it the smallest Cabinet formed in the past twenty years.
