Chief Government Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Mohamed Hussain Shareef, has expressed confidence that the Government will complete a significant number of ongoing development projects and deliver meaningful improvements to the lives of citizens within the remaining two years of its term.
Speaking on State media, Shareef said the Government aims to introduce changes that will be felt positively by the public, with tangible improvements expected in the daily lives of citizens.
He said the Government is actively working to incorporate public feedback into its governance, while implementing necessary reforms to improve how it operates. Efforts are also focused on increasing efficiency, accelerating implementation, and delivering results more swiftly.
Shareef noted that development projects currently underway across the islands are being expedited, and that the public will soon begin to see these projects completed at a faster pace.
He added that the Government is confident of improving overall living conditions, including easing the cost of living, reducing financial pressures, and addressing household expenses such as utility bills.
Shareef also said recent changes within the Government are aimed at strengthening governance and aligning its work more closely with public needs, including the recent reconstitution of the Cabinet.
He added that further changes are being implemented following assessments of political appointees, with ministries currently evaluating performance to ensure more effective service delivery across Government institutions.
