China’s Ambassador to the Maldives, Kong Xianhua, has praised the strong participation of children in environmental activities, describing it as encouraging for the country’s future.

The Ambassador made the remarks in a post on social media after taking part in a beach clean-up campaign held in Hulhumalé on Saturday.

The initiative was organised by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), and the Maldives Ocean Plastics Alliance (MOPA).

Sharing moments from the event, Ambassador Kong said it was a pleasure to contribute, even in a small way, to the protection of the Maldives’ marine environment.

He also highlighted the large number of children involved, noting that their participation made the event both meaningful and memorable.

The Ambassador added that such initiatives not only support environmental conservation efforts but also help raise awareness among younger generations.
