The Maldives National Defence Force marked its 134th anniversary with flag hoisting ceremonies held across the country.

The main ceremony took place at 06:00 a.m., officiated by Minister of Defence and National Security Hassan Rasheed. During the event, the Minister unveiled this year’s slogan, “Military Ethics – Advancement of the Army.”

Senior military officials, including Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy and Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Ghiyas, were in attendance alongside other general officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel.

The ceremony concluded with a special prayer and the performance of the military song.

Similar flag-raising ceremonies were also held at MNDF area command centres nationwide to mark the 134th anniversary.
