Maldives to partner with World Bank to host Digital Summit 2026

Maldives 2.0 Summit held in May 2025
Maldives Digital Service is co-hosting the Maldives Digital Summit 2026 in partnership with the World Bank.
The summit will be held from 27 to 29 April at Barceló Nasandhura, with a full-day conference followed by a two-day workshop.
The event will feature international experiences, best practices and practical lessons aimed at supporting the Government’s “Maldives 2.0” vision.
Speakers at the event will include State Ministers at the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology, Dr Mohamed Kinaanath and Dr Ibrahim Shiyam.
Keynote speakers will feature Iurie Turcanu, former Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalisation of Moldova; Dr Yoon-seok Ko, Vice President at National Information Society Agency (NIA) of South Korea; and Vyjayanti Desa, Practice Manager at the World Bank.
Maldives 2.0 is the Government’s national digital transformation initiative, focused on improving Government service delivery, supporting economic growth, and expanding access to essential information across the country.
