Special Olympics Maldives' 1st National Swim Meet has concluded after a two-day competition in Hulhumalé.

The competition was held at the Hulhumalé Swimming Pool Track and featured a total of 38 athletes competing across nine events. Participants included nine female athletes and 29 male athletes.

This marks the third year Special Olympics Maldives has conducted a swimming competition. This year, the event was further strengthened with enhanced standards and rebranded as the “National Swim Meet”.

As part of these improvements, competition rules were reinforced, and athletes were trained to better adhere to official standards.

A special closing ceremony was held to mark the conclusion of the event, with State Minister for Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness, Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim, attending as chief guest. Deputy Minister Ibrahim Faiz also took part in the ceremony.

Representatives from the main sponsor, Bank of Maldives (BML), including Head of Reconciliation and Reporting Aminath Jeehan and Reconciliation Manager Aishath Manaal Khalid, presented medals to the top-performing athletes.
