Final preparations are underway at the hotel designated to accommodate Maldivian pilgrims in Makkah ahead of their arrival on Friday for this year’s Hajj.
The Maldives Hajj Mission has been supervising final accommodation and service preparations ahead of the arrival of pilgrims from the Maldives.
Teams from the Hajj Mission have been inspecting rooms and reviewing hotel services.
The mission said all key arrangements required for pilgrims have already been completed at the hotel, including accommodation, meal services and healthcare facilities. A medical clinic has also been set up to provide healthcare services, while religious programmes and guidance sessions will be conducted during the stay.
The hotel designated for Maldivian pilgrims has 355 rooms. Each pilgrim will be provided with an individual bed, while rooms are equipped with amenities including wardrobes, refrigerators, televisions and kettles. Bathrooms will also have access to hot water.
The Maldives has been allocated a quota of 1,000 pilgrims for this year’s Hajj, with all arrangements coordinated by the Maldives Hajj Corporation.
Maldivian pilgrims will also continue to benefit from the Makkah Route Initiative, introduced for pilgrims from the Maldives last year. Under the initiative, pilgrims arriving at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah will not be required to wait for passport clearance or collect their luggage at the airport. Instead, they will be transported directly to their hotels, while luggage is delivered separately to their accommodation.
