The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced that banks across the Maldives will remain open on May 28 during the Eid Al-Adha holidays. MMA stated that banking services will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on that day, despite the government holiday period from May 24 to 30. The central bank advised the public to obtain the estimated amount of cash and banknotes needed for the Eid holidays, to avoid inconvenience. This year’s Eid al-Adha holiday period coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage, which falls on May 27.
