The Zakat House of Maldives has officially launched a new initiative to provide medical assistance to underprivileged citizens through the digital platform, OneGov.

This innovative service was introduced during a special ceremony held at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, where Islamic Minister Dr Mohammad Shaheem Ali Sayed inaugurated the initiative.

Minister Shaheem emphasized the importance of this service in enhancing convenience for the community. He commended the dedicated efforts of the Zakat House employees and the TradeNet team in making this service a reality, assuring that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs would fully support such initiatives moving forward.

The Ministry has stated that the integration of Zakat House medical services into the OneGov platform is aimed at streamlining access for the public, allowing for quicker and easier application processes. With this launch, the Ministry announced that applications for medical assistance will no longer be accepted over the counter or via email, marking a significant step towards improving service delivery for those in need.
