Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has emphasised that one of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s main priorities is to revive the Maldivian economy and steer it away from a severe recession.
Speaking at the launch of the 'Hashiheyo Raajje' programme in Kulhudhuffushi City, the Vice President noted the ongoing efforts to boost the economy, stating that conditions are gradually returning to normal.
He underscored the government’s commitment to completing delayed development projects in rural areas and initiating new ones as the economic situation improves. This includes plans to establish sports facilities across the country, a priority within the administration's broader efforts to enhance public infrastructure.
In his speech, the Vice President attributed the country’s economic challenges to misuse of public resources in the past, but he expressed optimism about the Government’s strategies to generate sustainable revenue. He assured that the administration is focused on bringing prosperity and well-being to the Maldivian people.
Emphasising President Muizzu’s dedication, he affirmed, “President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is a leader devoted to the nation, and as part of his vision, sports facilities will be developed nationwide. We are committed to fulfilling this promise within our five-year mandate.”
