The Government is preparing to launch an upgrade to its oneGov digital platform, a system designed to streamline access to services across Government agencies.

Speaking on MMTV’s Bodu Khabaru programme, Siyah Khaleel, Digital Strategist at the President's Office and Chairman of TradeNet detailed efforts to align the platform with the Government's digital transformation goals.

In the past year, the Government developed oneGov 2.0, integrating an enhanced interface to improve user interaction and accessibility.

This iteration aims to ensure that citizens could access services more efficiently, with the platform catering to the needs of 14 government agencies. The upcoming upgrade will expand its reach to include services from five additional agencies.

Features of the oneGov 2.0 upgrade include:

  • Improved accuracy and efficiency of the platform's search engine.
  • Visibility of driving licences and other permits, with timely notifications for their expiry.
  • Enhanced accessibility for all government services.

Siyah described the changes as a significant transformation of the system, that it represents more than just an upgrade but a "total overhaul" aimed at achieving the Administration's digital goals by revolutionising the entire system.
