The Government has awarded Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) the contract to design and build the sewerage system in F.Nilandhoo.

The contract was signed by State Minister Ibrahim Thoaam Mohamed on behalf of the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure and MWSC’s Managing Director, Abdul Matheen Mohamed.

Under this project, the island’s existing vacuum-based sewerage system will be converted into a more efficient gravity-based system, resolving the ongoing challenges faced by residents.

The contract was initially awarded to Fenaka in 2023 for a period of six months but has now been reassigned to MWSC.
