The Government is launching the construction of 10,000 housing units, with 4,000 to begin soon in Gulhifalhu. Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib stated that priority will be given to individuals who were promised flats under the previous Hiyaa scheme but later excluded. He also raised concerns over the FDC housing list, alleging that 1,000 extra names were added through point manipulation under the former administration.
