President to confer Grand Order of military Honour on Major General (Retired) Moosa Ali Jaleel

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced the conferral of the prestigious Grand Order of Military Honour (GOMH) on Major General (Retired) Moosa Ali Jaleel in recognition of his distinguished service to national security and his pivotal role in upholding the sovereignty of the Maldives.
This award honours Major General Jaleel’s remarkable bravery during the events of November 3, 1988, when he displayed extraordinary courage in the face of a terror attack. His actions were crucial in protecting the nation and its citizens during this challenging period.
The Grand Order of Military Honour is granted under the authority of the President, as provided by Article 115 of the Maldives Constitution and in accordance with the Maldives Honour Act (Act No. 1/97).
Major General (Retired) Moosa Ali Jaleel will formally receive this honour during a Victory Day ceremony on Sunday at 8:30 pm at Dharubaaruge.
