Groundbreaking ceremonies were held for a new police post, Fitness and Recreation Centre, and volleyball court, along with the inauguration of the new Council Secretariat building, in Alifu Dhaalu Hangnaameedhoo as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the island.

President Dr Muizzu officially inaugurated the new Council Secretariat. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Fitness and Recreation Centre was officiated by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed.

Minister Rafiu also officiated the groundbreaking of the new volleyball court, while Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan officiated the groundbreaking for the new police post.

These initiatives form part of the Administration’s efforts to expand public services and modern facilities across inhabited islands.
