President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated a new Pet Care Facility in Hulhumale’ Phase II, in line with the administration's vision to enhance animal welfare services.

Constructed on a 5,000 square foot plot, the facility is designed to offer a variety of veterinary services, including routine check-ups, treatments, operations, medication administration, and feeding for pets. The opening ceremony was attended by Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef, state ministers, and members of parliament.

In his address, President Dr Muizzu pointed out the previous administration's inaction on pet care issues, which had become a significant public concern. After being elected mayor of Malé City in 2021, he pledged to tackle this long-standing issue and requested a designated plot of land for the facility. Although progress was stalled due to a lack of support from the former coalition government, he ultimately secured Masveringe Park for its establishment.

The newly inaugurated Pet Care Facility represents a significant advancement in providing comprehensive veterinary care to the community and underscores President Dr Muizzu's commitment to addressing critical issues impacting pet owners and animal welfare in the Maldives.
