FDC to begin handover of keys of Gedhoruveriya Towers next week

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced that keys to five residential towers developed under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme will be handed over to recipients starting from the second week of December, with the full rollout expected to continue through January 2026.
According to the corporation, handovers will begin with five towers of the AMAN Udhares and AMAN Dhoadhi clusters, marking the next major phase of the programme. FDC noted that while the current schedule is tentative and may be subject to adjustments, the Government aims to complete all handovers by the end of January.
Proposed key handover schedule:
- Second week of December - Udhares Towers: 11, 12, 13, 15, 16
- Week of 5 December - Dhoadhi Towers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 14
- Second week of January - Dhoadhi Towers: 15, 16
- Third week of January - Udhares Towers: 5, 6,
- Fourth week of January - Udhares Towers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7
- Week of 5 January - Udhares Towers: 5, 10
- Fifth week of January - Dhoadhi Towers: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
FDC stated that construction work for all towers is complete, with most buildings now undergoing final utility testing before keys are issued. Earlier, the first units under the project , at Tower 14, were handed over on 28 September.
To ease the financial burden on residents, the Government has approved a significant rent reduction for those who pay consistently. Under this subsidy, monthly rent is set at MVR 9,000 for three-room units and MVR 7,000 for two-room units.
