MP for North Machangolhi, Ibrahim Mohamed, has said that services at the Malé City Council would significantly improve if People’s National Congress (PNC) candidate Moosa Ali Jaleel and his fellow candidates are elected in the upcoming local council elections.
Speaking on MMTV’s Dhiveheenge Raajje programme, the MP introduced council candidate Adam Adheem, noting that he, like Moosa Ali Jaleel, has more than 25 years of service in a uniformed body. He said both candidates bring strong experience, discipline and a proven service record.
MP Ibrahim said voters should assess candidates based on their intellectual ability, experience, conduct and commitment to public service. He described Adam Adheem as the most qualified candidate for the North Machangolhi North seat on the Malé City Council.
The MP also criticised the current performance of the council, stating that an efficiency audit would show its work falls short of modern standards. He stressed that discipline is key to improving efficiency and said this would be the main change under the leadership of Moosa Ali Jaleel.
He highlighted that effective coordination with the central Government requires administrative experience and discipline, qualities he said both Moosa Ali Jaleel and Adam Adheem possess. He further added that their election would bring faster implementation of government services at the council level, in line with the pace sought by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
