Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and the Maldives Thalassaemia Society have signed an agreement to conduct awareness programmes on thalassaemia in Hulhumalé.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at the HDC Head Office on Tuesday. Managing Director of HDC, Brigadier General (Retired) Ali Zuhair, signed the agreement on behalf of the corporation, while Chairperson of the Maldives Thalassaemia Society, Eeman Mohamed, signed on behalf of the society.

Under the one-year agreement, HDC will provide office space in Hulhumalé for the Maldives Thalassaemia Society to support its activities.

The agreement also includes plans for the Maldives Thalassaemia Society, in collaboration with HDC, to conduct awareness sessions on thalassaemia in Hulhumalé Phase I and Phase II.

HDC stated that it aims to continue supporting similar programmes in the future that contribute to the wellbeing and benefit of the community.
