Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen has stated that Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry services are expected to commence across all atolls of the Maldives before the end of June.
Speaking about the progress of the national ferry network, the Minister said preparations are currently underway to expand the service to the remaining atolls, with the Government working to accelerate the rollout earlier than initially scheduled.
According to the Minister, efforts are currently underway to introduce RTL services in Meemu Atoll and Laamu Atoll before the end of this month, as part of the ongoing expansion of the ferry network.
RTL ferry services have already been launched in 14 atolls, connecting 133 islands to the national transport system. The most recent services were introduced in Faafu and Dhaalu Atolls, as the Government continues efforts to expand the inter-island ferry network across the country.
