Kolamaafushi member of Parliament, Ibrahim Didi has emphasised that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's Administration is prioritising the nation's progress and well-being over seeking re-election.
The MP outlined the President's commitment to creating a prosperous Maldives that benefits the citizens in all aspects.
He highlighted that unlike past leaders, who often undertook initiatives that disregarded constitutional and legal boundaries in pursuit of a second term, President Dr Muizzu is focusing on sustainable governance. Previous administrations had mortgaged national assets and mismanaged public funds to achieve political gains, which was deeply concerning.
He noted the current Government's emphasis on fostering youth responsibility and building a strong foundation for the country's future. Restrictions on cigarettes and vaping products and proposed amendments to drug and alcohol laws were pivotal steps toward this goal. He dismissed criticisms of these policies, asserting they are intended for the betterment of the population.
The MP addressed improvements made regarding migrant workers, as long-standing issues faced by this group are being resolved under the present Administration.
Furthermore, he underscored the Government's efforts to ensure safety and security for all communities across Maldives, reaffirming its commitment to addressing pressing societal challenges.
