Maldivian adds additional domestic flights for Eid holidays

National airline Maldivian has increased domestic flights across the Maldives ahead of the Eid Al-Adha holidays in response to a sharp rise in travel demand.
Additional flights have been scheduled alongside regular services as demand for domestic travel surges during the Eid holiday period.
The airline has arranged extra flights for Saturday and Sunday to several domestic destinations.
The additional flights scheduled are:
30 May (Saturday)
- 9:25 a.m. Malé – Dharavandhoo
- 10:35 a.m. Dharavandhoo – Malé
31 May (Sunday)
- 7:50 p.m. Malé – Kooddoo
- 7:50 p.m. Malé – Kadhdhoo
- 5:10 a.m. Malé – Hanimaadhoo
- 6:40 a.m. Hanimaadhoo – Malé
- 8:10 a.m. Malé – Hoarafushi
- 8:00 a.m. Malé – Ifuru
Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef, citing information from the airline, said Maldivian is expected to operate 1,227 flights during this year’s Eid holiday period.
Shareef also stated that the airline has increased its Eid holiday operations by 20 percent compared to normal monthly operations.
The Spokesperson added that Maldivian alone is expected to carry around 64,000 passengers during the Eid holidays, while the total number of travellers is expected to rise further when including services operated by other airlines.
