Applications open for MIRA’s Deputy Commissioner General position

The President's Office has opened applications for the position of Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) following a vacancy in the post.

President’s Office said the application forms can be downloaded from their Office website., and that applications will be accepted from today until Wednesday, 05 August 2026, during official working hours from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation is appointed by the President with the approval of the People's Majlis under the Tax Administration Act. The office supports the Commissioner General in overseeing MIRA's operations and assumes the responsibilities of the Commissioner General when required.

The vacancy follows the appointment of Fathimath Ameeza as Commissioner General of Taxation. Ameeza, who previously served as Deputy Commissioner General, was appointed by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu after receiving the approval of the People's Majlis.

Established in 2010, MIRA is responsible for administering and collecting taxes and other state revenue in the Maldives. The authority has played a key role in strengthening the country's tax administration, expanding digital tax services and supporting domestic revenue generation through the implementation of successive tax reforms.
