Large congregations gathered across the Maldives on Wednesday morning as people performed Eid al-Adha prayers in the Greater Malé Area and islands across the atolls.

Special arrangements were made for large congregational prayers at several outdoor venues in Malé, Vilimalé and Hulhumalé. The main prayer locations included the Maafannu Stadium area in Malé, the football ground in Vilimalé, the synthetic track in Hulhumalé Phase I, and the sports arena in Hulhumalé Phase II.

Alongside the large prayer gatherings, Eid prayers were also held at 25 mosques across the Greater Malé Area, including 17 mosques in Malé, seven in Hulhumalé and one in Vilimalé.

Thousands of worshippers attended the Eid prayers in the capital region and across the country, marking the beginning of Eid al-Adha celebrations.
