Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has extended congratulations to the leadership of Saudi Arabia following the successful completion of the 1447 AH Hajj season, while expressing gratitude for the extensive efforts undertaken to serve pilgrims.
In a post on X, Minister Dr Shaheem congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and the Government and people of Saudi Arabia on the successful conclusion of the annual pilgrimage.
The minister also expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Interior, and all ministries, institutions and authorities involved in facilitating the pilgrimage. He said their dedication, meticulous planning and unwavering commitment had played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this year’s Hajj season while providing pilgrims with the highest standards of services and facilities.
Minister Dr Shaheem said the smooth organisation and successful management of Hajj reflected Saudi Arabia’s longstanding commitment to serving pilgrims and its continuous efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to visitors to the holy sites.
He also prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Saudi Arabia, asking for continued security, stability and prosperity for the Kingdom. The minister further prayed for the acceptance of the Hajj of all pilgrims and the righteous deeds and acts of worship of Muslims around the world.
This year, 1,000 Maldivians travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
As in previous years, Maldivian pilgrims travelled under the Makkah Route Initiative, which enables pilgrims to complete all Saudi immigration procedures in the Maldives before departure, allowing for a smoother and more efficient arrival process in Saudi Arabia.
