President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed condolences to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following a fatal bus accident in western Türkiye that claimed eight lives and left several others injured.

In a message sent to the Turkish President, President Dr Muizzu expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, in which a passenger bus crashed and caught fire.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, President Dr Muizzu extended sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as to the Government and people of Türkiye. He stated that the thoughts and prayers of the Maldivian people are with those affected by the tragedy and wished strength and patience to the bereaved families during this difficult time.

The President also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident.
