Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has deposited more than MVR 533,000 to 22 fishing vessels. 

The company has revealed that a total of MVR 533,283 was paid on Monday for fish weighed and sold to MIFCO on the 30th of last month.

The payments included MVR 172,143 to vessels that supplied skipjack tuna, while MVR 32,640 was paid for yellowfin tuna weighing more than 10 kilograms.

In addition, MVR 328,500 was deposited for vessels that supplied yellowfin tuna weighing more than 15 kilograms.

MIFCO stated that the payments were made under the company's 48-hour payment system introduced for fishermen.
