President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have recognised the important role parents play in nurturing families, strengthening communities and shaping future generations on the occasion of Global Day of Parents.
In a message shared on X, the President described parents as the foundation of families and praised their lifelong commitment and sacrifice in raising children. He stated that the love, resilience and dedication of parents help shape future generations and contribute to the strength of the nation. The President also reaffirmed the Administration's commitment to supporting parents and safeguarding the future of children through continued investment in education, healthcare and community programmes.
The First Lady also shared a message marking the occasion, recognising the love, patience and sacrifice of parents in nurturing children. She said strong families and compassionate communities are built upon the dedication of parents and emphasised the importance of ensuring that every child grows up with care, protection and opportunities to succeed.
Global Day of Parents is observed annually on June 1 to recognise the vital role parents play in the upbringing, protection and development of children. The theme for this year's Global Day of Parents is "Together for Parents", highlighting the importance of providing parents and caregivers with the support, resources and enabling environment needed to raise children in safe and nurturing communities.
