President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said delays affecting some major development projects due to unrest in the Middle East are expected to be resolved, allowing work to progress at a faster pace in the coming months.

Speaking at a press briefing held at the President's Office, the President said several Government projects have experienced slowdowns linked to challenges faced by companies involved in their implementation. He expressed confidence that the difficulties would ease and that lost time would be recovered as work accelerates.

The President also provided updates on a number of major projects underway in the Greater Malé region and across the atolls, stressing that completing these projects remains one of the administration's key priorities. He added that efforts are ongoing to ensure project timelines return to normal once current obstacles are addressed.

Addressing transparency within the Government, the President said work is progressing to improve compliance with information disclosure requirements. He expressed hope that all ministries would achieve full compliance within the coming week.

He also highlighted the importance of the right to information and said efforts are underway to clear pending RTI requests. The President noted that responses to overdue requests are expected to be completed within approximately 15 days, with the aim of strengthening information sharing across Government institutions.
