President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman on his election as President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

In a message shared via his official X account, President Dr Muizzu extended his congratulations to Dr Rahman and wished him success in carrying out the responsibilities of the role.

The President expressed confidence that, under Dr Rahman’s leadership, the UN General Assembly would continue to serve as an important platform representing the interests of all Member States.

President Dr Muizzu also described the election as a proud achievement for the people of Bangladesh and the wider region.

The United Nations General Assembly is one of the principal organs of the United Nations and serves as a forum where all Member States can discuss and address key global issues.
