Maldives Customs has seized drugs with an estimated street value of MVR 1.8 million that were being smuggled into the Maldives through air transport.

The seizure was made on May 24 during an operation targeting illegal drugs entering the country via air cargo channels.

Customs said a total of 941 grams of drugs were recovered during the operation. The substances were identified as methamphetamine. Authorities estimated the street value of the seized drugs at approximately MVR 1.8 million.
