EC expects North Hithadhoo by-election voting to conclude on schedule

The Elections Commission (EC) has stated that ballot boxes in the North Hithadhoo constituency by-election will close as scheduled if voting proceeds without any disruptions.
Speaking to State media on the ongoing by election, Elections Commission Vice President Abdul Rahman Salah Rasheed said voting was progressing smoothly, securely and in an orderly manner.
He noted that polling stations opened at 8:00 a.m. and are scheduled to close at 4:00 p.m., provided no unforeseen circumstances or incidents beyond the Commission's control occur.
The Commission also urged voters to cast their ballots as early as possible during polling hours.
The Elections Commission has reminded voters to ensure they bring a valid identification document when voting. Accepted forms of identification include the national identity card, passport, passport card and driving licence.
In addition, the Commission called on candidates, supporters and members of the public to comply with electoral regulations and refrain from campaign activities during prohibited hours on election day.
The Elections Commission further assured that, as with previous elections, the results would accurately reflect the votes cast by the electorate.
