Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam has departed on an official visit to China, where she is scheduled to attend the 7th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum.

The visit, taking place from June 10 to 12, will see the minister participate in the opening ceremony of the forum in Kunming and deliver a keynote address. She is also scheduled to attend the 10th China-South Asia Expo, which brings together Government officials, businesses and stakeholders from across the region.

During the visit, minister Iruthisham is also expected to meet senior officials of the People's Government of Yunnan Province and engage with Maldivian students studying in the province.

The minister is accompanied by Additional Secretary Amin Javed Faizal and Director Maryam Bassama Farooq from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
