Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has emphasised that investing in young people is among the most important investments societies can make to secure a better future.

Minister Dr Shaheem made the remarks while addressing the International Youth Conference, held as part of the Third International Summit of Religious Leaders 2026 in Malaysia. The Minister is attending the summit at the invitation of the Muslim World League.

In his address, Minister Dr Shaheem highlighted the importance of equipping young people with knowledge, values and practical skills to enable them to navigate contemporary challenges and maximise the opportunities emerging from the digital revolution and advances in artificial intelligence.

He stated that empowering youth is a long-term investment that strengthens communities and contributes to sustainable social development and resilience.

The Minister also conveyed appreciation to the Government of Malaysia, Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Anwar Ibrahim and Malaysia's Ministry of Religious Affairs for organising the conference. In addition, he expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for Saudi Arabia's efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, while promoting moderation, unity, tolerance and peace.
