The government of India has delivered the second shipment of measles and rubella vaccines, along with approximately three tonnes of medical supplies, to the Maldives today.

The assistance forms part of a donation extended by the Indian government to the Ministry of Health, Family and Welfare during this month.

In a post shared on X, the High Commission of India in the Maldives stated that the latest shipment reflects the longstanding partnership between the Maldives and India, as well as the importance both countries place on strengthening public health cooperation.

Under this assistance package, the Maldives has received 20,000 doses of measles and rubella (MR) vaccines, in addition to nearly three tonnes of medical supplies. The shipment includes diagnostic kits used for disease detection and other equipment required for the delivery of healthcare services.

The Maldivian Government expressed its appreciation to the Government of India for its continued support, noting that India has consistently extended assistance to the Maldives whenever required.
