The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has successfully contained a fire that broke out at Flat 110 in Hulhumalé Phase I.

MNDF stated that the incident was reported to the Hulhumalé Fire Station at 1:10 a.m., prompting an immediate response from firefighters of the Malé Area Command. The fire was fully extinguished by 1:23 a.m.

The MNDF said five people, including two children, sustained injuries in the incident and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire.
