Ruling Party People's National Congress (PNC) has completed preparations to hold its constituency elections tomorrow.

The internal elections will appoint presidents, vice presidents and committee members for the party's steering committees across constituencies. The vote will also elect constituency presidents in areas that do not have a PNC Member of Parliament, while constituencies represented by a PNC MP will elect vice presidents.

The elections will be held in 131 island constituencies where the number of candidates exceeds the number of available positions.

Once the process is completed, more than 2,000 party positions will be filled.

With little time remaining before polling begins, the PNC says preparations for the internal elections are progressing at full pace to ensure the vote is conducted as scheduled.
