The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has planted Maldivian palm trees along the northern side of Boduthakurufaanu Magu as part of the Government's efforts to create a greener and more sustainable urban environment under the road redevelopment project.
The tree planting follows a ceremony held on Thursday at the newly developed parking zone, where Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib said greening efforts would continue as the project nears completion. The initiative forms part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's plan to establish a green belt along Boduthakurufaanu Magu with large trees planted at regular intervals, while also supporting the Government's nationwide Five Million Trees Programme.
