President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has submitted the names of two nominees to Parliament for consideration to fill the vacant positions in the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The candidates proposed by the President are:

These names were submitted to the Speaker of Parliament, who read the letter on the parliamentary floor during today's out-of-session meeting and referred the matter to the Parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions for assessment.

The vacancies in the ACC arose following the resignations of Abdul Salam, the commission’s vice-chairman, and member Thoha Mohamed. Their resignations came after a parliamentary committee decision to remove them from their positions.
