Three Indian nationals have been arrested and are set to be deported following an altercation at Artificial Beach on Friday evening.

The incident occurred around 8:30 PM and involved a physical fight among three men. During the altercation, a Maldivian citizen who was recording the fight on his phone was also assaulted.

Via his official X account, Immigration Controller Mohamed Shamaan Waheed confirmed that the individuals had been transferred to the custody of the Immigration Department. He stated that all three would be deported and emphasised that such behaviour would not be tolerated.

This incident follows a similar altercation involving foreign nationals at Artificial Beach in December 2024. Artificial Beach, a popular spot for both locals and tourists, has seen an uptick in such incidents, prompting renewed calls for maintaining public order.
