The Government Oversight Committee of the People's Majilis (Parliament) has endorsed nominations for four Cabinet Ministers following a recent restructuring by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. 

The endorsements were finalised on January 19, 2025,  after the committee reviewed the nominations during an extraordinary session of Parliament.

The nominees include Moosa Zameer as Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed as Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Dr Maryam Mariya as Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, and Dr Abdulla Muththalib as Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure.

The reorganisation, announced on December 26, 2024, redistributes the former Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development's responsibilities across several portfolios.

The newly established Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure will now oversee housing policy and social housing projects. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Planning will take charge of land utilisation, urban development, and national planning; roles previously managed by the dissolved housing ministry.

The endorsed nominations will now proceed to the parliamentary floor for final approval.
